Technical Association of the Graphic Arts
The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) is an organization founded in 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. Founded as the Technical Association of the Lithographic Industry (TALI), the organization was re-branded as TAGA in 1951[1] and has continued with that name ever since. The organization works with student chapters around the world to publish cutting-edge information about the graphic arts industry on a yearly basis after its annual technical conference held at a different location each year in North America.
TAGA concentrates on the discussion of topics such as software, computer technology and systems all designed for the graphic arts. As well, following the traditional ideals of press operation, ink and paper properties are studied and discussed.[2]
Student chapters
Starting in 1985, student chapters of TAGA began to develop to allow students and future graphic arts professionals to partake in the study of new print technologies.[3] To date, there are 15 active TAGA student chapters located all over the globe.
